Practice game 121
121 practice game is one of the best workouts you can routinely do to improve your game. It is so effective that the PDC Tour players tend to use it as they warm-up before matches.
This is a very simple game with easy rules:
The aim of the game is to round off a succession of finishes that require over three darts. In fact, you want to attempt and complete all of the possible over three dart finishes in progressive order from 121 to 170. The premise is that you have nine darts to finish with.So you have to get out in 9 darts or less for 121 then 122 etc. But here’s the kicker, if you fail then you have to go back to 121 and start over again. This exercise is incredibly tough but will progress your game remarkably if you keep at it.
Around the world in doubles
Around the world in doubles is another exercise method that could better your game immensely. It is as simple as it sounds and an alternative of the popular game around the clock. You only need to hit each double from 1-20 followed by the bull. The objective is to set yourself a limit on the number of rounds you get to hit all the doubles. So initially say 3 rounds per double so you would have 198 darts to get every double and the bull. Once you have finished this try and lessen your throws more and more until you are about 1 round/ double or 63 darts. Then try it with trebles.
Bull double variation
This is the same basic game as around the board in doubles except this time you have to hit each double followed by the bull. For example double 1, bull, double 2 bull etc. This will sharpen you on hitting those bulls as well as greatly, and rapidly, correcting your doubles game.
