Low alcohol beer
Although the terms light beer, low alcohol beer and non-alcoholic beer are generally used interchangeably, there are some differences among them. Let us define each of them and the difference becomes apparent.
<b>Low alcohol beer -</b> Generally speaking, this is any beer with very low ABV, but as per United Kingdom regulations, low alcohol beers are beers with an ABV of less than 1.2 percent. <b>Non alcoholic beer -</b> In the United States and the European Union, beer containing alcohol content less than 0.5 percent ABV is termed non-alcoholic beer, while the limit is set at 0.05 percent ABV in the UK. <b>Light beer -</b> Apart from having a low alcohol content , light beers also have low calorie content . The calorie count is lowered by reducing the carbohydrate content. These beers are usually less flavourful than other beers, as they seem to be watered down.
