Five Amazing Stories
Four Friends
Mouse, raven, turtle and deer were four good friends to each other that lived in a jungle. While they were living together for years, they had never made quarrels.
One evening, mouse, raven and turtle came as usual together at the side of the lake, but deer didn’t come in spite of their long waiting. It passed several hours and he was not heard of “What has happened in your opinion?” mouse asked sadly.
“It is possible for him to be entangled by the hunters”, raven replied.
“We should look for him. Dear raven! You can fly: so, go to see every where in the jungle to find him possibly”, turtle said. Raven flew away. He cried flying: “Dear! Dear! Where are you?” suddenly, raven heard a weak voice, saying: “help, help! I’m here”.
Raven looked for the voice and found him finally. He had been trapped in a hunter’s netting. Sitting sadly next to his friend, raven said to him: “I can not help you by myself. I should go to bring the other friends here”.
Having said this, raven went flying to turtle and mouse and informed them of deer being entangled. “Mouse can tear the netting with his sharp teeth to save him”, turtle said.
“But, how can I reach swiftly there? Before I reach there, the hunter will reach and take him”, mouse said.
“I can pick you on my back to take there”, raven answered.
Mouse accepted and sat on his back. Then, raven flied and went into the sky. They reached deer very soon. Mouse got off the raven’s back chewed the nettings quickly. The trop was torn and deer got free. Turtle came also there at the time. The four friends were happy of being together all safe, but suddenly the hunter appeared. Raven flew and sat on top of the tree. Mouse hid in a hole and deer ran away quickly. Turtle, not being able to walk quickly, remained alone. Finding the netting empty, the hunter got angry and shouted: “How has deer escaped”?
At the time, he saw turtle and said to himself: “It’s better for me now take the turtle to sell in return for the deer running away”. So, he catched the turtle, chopped him in to a bag and left. Raven, being sat on top of the tree, saw every thing and informed mouse and deer of the happening.
“We should make haste, or the hunter will reach his home soon”, mouse said.
“I stop on the hunter’s way to home and begin to eat grass, as though I have not seen him. Seeing me, he will leave his bag on the land to follow me. At that time, it’s mouse’s turn to go to the bag and tear it. Then, turtle will be freed”, deer said.
Saying this, deer reached himself running before the hunter and got busy with eating grasses. The hunter, seeing him, left the bag happily on the land and ran after him. Mouse tore the bag with his sharp teeth. Turtle came out of the bag and hid under the bushes.
Having followed deer for a while, the hunter got disappointed and stopped. Then, he came back to his bag and said: “Never mind. I will hunt the deer another day. Today, the turtle is sufficient for me”.
However, when he came to the bag, there wasn’t the turtle inside. The hunter, being surprised, said to himself: “What’s up”? Once the deer flees from my netting, and also once the turtle tears my bag and escapes. I’m down on my luck today. It seems as if I have to remain hungry tonight. The hunter said this and went away. Turtle, mouse, raven and deer returned their nests comfortably.
Blue Jackal
One day, a very hungry jackal for the food, reached a city. He stopped for a moment and looked around. He knew that it is very hazardous for him to enter the city, but there was no alternative for him to do. While thinking, he suddenly heard some dogs barking. So, he feared and began to run. The dogs, made conscious of this presence, followed him. The jackal, running successively, entered in to the dyer’s house.
There was a container full of blue dye in the yard. Not seeing the dye container, jackal fell in. the clogs didn’t find him and got away. Jackal came out of the dye container and was surprised seeing himself with the blue color. Being frightened of the city dogs attack him again, jackal ran hurriedly to the jungle, but the jungle animals, not ever seeing a blue animal, feared and escaped.
Jackal got the issue and made a plan very soon. “Why do you flee from me? Come from and listen to me”, he shouted.
The animals stopped to watch him.
“Tell all your friends to come here. I want to say a very important thing to them”, jackal said.
The animals came there one by one and made a circle over the blue jackal. “You shouldn’t fear me. I have come here on God’s behalf to be your kind and take care of you”, jackal said.
The animals believed in his speech and told him: “We thank God sending you to reign us. Now, tell us what we can do for you”.
“You should obey me and make my food ready every day”, jackal said.
“Ok, our lord! What else do you want us to do?”, the animals said together.
“You should be faithful to me. Then, I will also protect you against your enemies”, jackal answered.
From that day on, the animals provided jackal with the best foods and obeyed whatever he said. The jackal lived like a king, until several jackals` voices were someday heard of the distant. The blue jackal that had not heard his own kinds` voices for along time got up happily and began to howl.
When the animals saw the jackal howling, they got every thing. They got angry for the jackal had cheated them for along time; therefore, they decided to catch and punish him, but it was late and jackal had left there.
“The Man and Goat”
Someday, a man received a goat as a gift from his friend. He put it on his shoulders and went to his home. On the way, three tricksters that were very hungry saw him. Seeing the fat goat on the man’s shoulders, they made a plan to get the goat and full their stomachs.
Because of this, one of them went to the man and said: “I’m sorry, sir! May I ask why you have put this dog on your shoulders?”
“Dog?! Which dog? Unless don’t you see. It’s a goat? My friend has given in to me”, the man said with surprise. “I just said what I see. Now, don’t be worry”, the first trickster said and went away.
The man kept on his going. However. It had not yet passed so much time that the second trickster came to him and said: “Dear sir! You shouldn’t put a dead calf on your shoulders and take it around”.
The man gazed at the trickster with surprise and said to him: “A dead calf?! Unless can’t you see? How do you mistake after goat for a dead calf?”
“Don’t be angry of me. Do whatever you like. It has nothing to do with me”, the trickster said and got away. The man pulled down the goat and looked at it well. No! It was really a goat, not a dead calf. So, he put it again on his shoulders and went. He had not yet taken some steps that the third trickster came ahead and said: “I’m sorry, sir! I want to say that it is not at all right of you to do this”.
“What?” the man asked him.
“How do you let yourself put a donkey on your shoulders and go ahead? If some one sees you, s/he will surely ridicule you. Please put it on the land”, the trickster said and passed by him.
The man stopped and said to himself: “this is the third person seeing the goat in a different shape than its main one. Maybe, it is a jinn or Satan capable of changing its shape”.
Thinking so, the man was frightened. He threw the goat on the land and escaped swiftly. When he got away, the three tricksters came to the goat and catched it. Then, they made a palatable food of its mutton and ate it.
“The Girl who married a Snake”
There was a time and there wasn’t a time. A couple lived in a small village at a corner of the big world. They had just an agony: They were not being able to give birth to a child.
Eventually, the woman became pregnant. Days passed and it was the time for the child to be born, but the woman gave birth to a snake instead of a man. Every one who heard the story came to the couple and said to them: “Kill him immediately and put your mind at ease”.
However, the woman who was the snake’s mother and had given birth to him was not satisfied to do so. She kindly took care of her son, cleaned him, feeded him and put him to sleep soundly inside a beautiful box in a comfortable bed.
The days passed continuously and snake grew up. Him mother loved him more than ago. When someone got married in the neighborhood and the woman heard the happy sound of musical kettledrum, she began to think and asked herself: “Can a girl be found to be ready to marry a snake?”
The woman was disappointed at her son’s marriage and grieved.
One day, the man saw his wife crying loudly when he came home. The man, being worry of this, went to her and said: “why are you crying? What’s the matter?”
As the woman was crying, she said: “You don’t love me and my son. If it wasn’t so, you thought a little of him. Unless don’t you see he is grown up and we should get him a wife”.
The man who had surprised of his wife’s speech said to her: “Oh, my dear wife! Who will accept to give his daughter to a snake?”
The woman, who had nothing to talk about, still began to cry. The man, not being able tolerates his wife’s sadness, decided to find his son a wife. Therefore, he went out his home and began to search, but it was of no use to go to anybody wherever. Noon was satisfied to give his laughter to a snake and also no girl was convinced to marry a snake. The man kept on going. He traveled from city to city, till he reached a city where one of his friends lived. Not seeing his friend for years, the man went happily to him and was invited to his house.
He stayed there for days. His friend, saying goodbye to him, asked him: “Any way! I forgot to ask why you are traveling around the country.”
“I am trying to find a wife for my son”, the man said. “So, why didn’t you say earlier? I have a beautiful girl if you want, I will girl to you to become your son’s wife”, his friend said happily.
“That’s very good, but you should see my son”, the man said. “No, no. It’s for years I know you and your wife, and I trust in you. My daughter comes with you to become you bride”, the man’s friend said.
The man said nothing else. The girl came with him to their village. Seeing her beautiful bride, the woman thanked God and got busy with preparing the wedding things. When the village’s people heard the issue. They went to the girl and said to her: “Oh, beautiful girl! Don’t become that boy’s wife. He is a snake”.
“Whatever he is, I will marry him. My father wanted me to become this family’s bride. I love my father and don’t want to make he sad”, the girl said to them.
Next day, the girl married the snake and she tried to be a good wife for him.
One night, when the girl had sat in her room, the door was suddenly opened and a hand some boy came in. the girl was frightened and got up to escape, but the cute young boy said: “Don’t escape. I’m your spouse. Don’t you recognize me?”
“But my spouse is a snake”, the girl said.
The young man went in to the snake’s skin before the girl’s eyes and came again out of it. The girl got very happy finding the young man her spouse.
From that day on, the young man came out of the snake’s skin at nights and went again in to in the morning before the sunrise.
One night, the father heard a strange sound when he was walking by the door of their room. So, he stopped beside the door and looked in to the gap of the door. Suddenly, he found his son came out of the snake’s skin. The father opened the door immediately and went to the snake’s skin. Then, he picked it up and threw in the fire. It was burnt in the fire and turned in to ash. The young man kissed his father’s hands and said to him: “Thank you. I had been enchanted and the only way to get rid of it was through annihilating the snake’s skin by some one without I tell him/her to do so. I’m happy you did it for me”.
The whole house was filled with happiness. The news was spread throughout the village and from that day on, the handsome young man was not turned in to the snake anymore.
The faithful ferret
Once upon a time, a farmer lived along with his wife and son in a remote place. One evening, the farmer saw a small Indian ferret when he was returning to his home. He got it, brought to the home and said to his wife: “This ferret can be a good playmate to our son”. Months passed and the small ferret grew up and turned in to a large one, while the farmer’s son was still a small boy.
One day, the farmer’s wife wanted to go shopping in the cradle. Then, she said to her husband: “I go to the market. Our son is asleep. Take care of him. I don’t like at all he remains alone what it”. “Don’t worry! It’s a kind animal and doesn’t bother our son”, the farmer said. The man, getting bored of nothing to do. Went out of the home and got busy with talking to his friends.
It was no time that the woman returned home with a basket full of foodstuffs. She suddenly faced with the ferret at the doorsteps. The ferret’s face and paws were red with the blood. The woman shouted. She pounded the basket full of foodstuffs. On the ferret’s head and said: “Oh, my God! It has killed my son”. The woman went embarrassingly to the room, but she saw his son safe sleeping in the cradle with the dead body of a black snake in pieces. The woman just got the ferret had saved her son and killed the black snake. The woman hugged her son, ran hurriedly to the ferret and said: “You are the best ferret in the world. You have saved my son”.
However, the ferret was dead. The woman began to cry, but it was of useless. She couldn’t make the ferret alive anymore
